Guidance Services
Chapman’s Retreat offers a wide variety of counseling services. From whole-class instruction to meeting individual needs, the guidance department includes resources to help each child be their best. Please reach out to our wonderful counselors, Sheila Koeppendoerfer and Frizzette Miller, anytime. Our school social worker, Alexis Kaufman, is also available to help meet the needs of Chapman's Retreat students and families. Our guidance department is wonderful and eager to help in any way they can!
Small Group and Individual Counseling
Small groups are organized to help students meet certain challenges they may be facing. These groups give student’s an opportunity to share and acquire specific skills in a confidential setting. Small groups consist of 3-6 students and usually meet once a week for 6 weeks during the grade level lunch period. Some of the guidance groups offered at CRES are friendship, anger management, self-esteem, grief, and family change. Individual counseling is offered to students as needed. Students can be referred by parents, teachers, or self-referrals.
Stop and Think
A Fairview Elementary school counselor is encouraging her students to stop and think, and the district is encouraging others to embrace the concept as well.
